The emperor of man stands for the mortals, as a manifest dominion decree they state the stars belong to man not the unfeeling immortals.

The imperium was founded following the chaos of the Immortal Wars on the human home world. For centuries, the human home world and its colonies were ruled by cold, deathless tyrants, their decrees enforced by soulless constructs and cloned enforcers, who themselves never knew death. Thus the solar throne was formed as a war machine breaking the hold immortals had over them, it now views itself as the true inheritor of the cosmos for it was mankind alone who shattered the chains of eternity and reclaimed their right to rule. The Imperium marches forward into the stars, for to halt is to become like the stagnant immortals that claimed humanity before.
